When You make your coffee or tea, turn the lid to close the press while your coffee or tea steeps, and turn it again to open it to pour. I have owned a couple french presses before this one none of which were made as well as this one. The quality of the seal is much better than any I have previously used. The glass is much thicker & fits its holder much tighter. Overall I am extremely impressed with this product & intend to buy another for a spare!!!

Amazing quality! This is my fourth personal coffee press (we seem to break the glass), but this is far and away the best press yet. Thick glass, sturdy holder and an exceptionally functional screen & plunger combine to create a great cup of coffee, or loose leaf tea if/when you prefer. Easy to use and clean. We purchased the 32oz press and it's just the right size to enjoy with a friend. I've even used a much finer grind in this press than I could in other presses, and it comes out perfect! And don't forget the stylishly clean and modern look, as wonderful to display as it is to use. enJoy!
